Para los surfistas más experimentados, Punta Caleta es una joya: un point break de izquierda accesible en bote desde el puerto de Chacala. Este spot ofrece olas consistentes y desafiantes en un entorno natural espectacular.
La zona cuenta con dos temporadas de oleaje bien definidas:
El oleaje del sur, que llega durante la temporada de huracanes.
El oleaje del noroeste, que domina el invierno y comienza alrededor de Navidad.
Durante los meses invernales, las olas del norte son más altas, rápidas y con rompientes más empinadas, ideales para quienes buscan acción. Aunque la entrada es rocosa y hay presencia de erizos de mar, existe una pequeña playa perfecta para descansar o disfrutar como espectador.
Para quienes están dando sus primeros pasos en el surf, recomendamos un viaje de 30 minutos a Platanitos, una playa perfecta para principiantes e intermedios. Este beach break de fondo arenoso, ubicado en la desembocadura de un río, es ideal con oleaje del noroeste. Rodeado de cocoteros y arena blanca, Platanitos también ofrece un entorno tranquilo y hermoso para pasear mientras se observan las sesiones de surf.

For more experienced surfers, Punta Caleta is a gem: a left-hand point break accessible by boat from Chacala port. This spot offers consistent and challenging waves in a stunning natural environment.
The area has two well-defined surf seasons:
Southern Swell,which arrives during hurricane season.
Northwest Swell,which dominates the winter and begins around Christmas.
During the winter months, the northwest waves are higher, faster, and steeper, ideal for those seeking action. Although the entrance is rocky and there are sea urchins, there is a small beach perfect for resting or watching as a spectator.
For those taking their first steps in surfing, we recommend a 30-minute trip to Platanitos, a perfect beach for beginners and intermediates. This sandy-bottom beach break, located at the mouth of a river, is ideal for northwest swells. Surrounded by coconut trees and white sand, Platanitos also offers a peaceful and beautiful environment to relax while watching the surf sessions.
